Since the autumn of 2000, the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival has been held annually in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We celebrate our local and national heritage of seafaring and maritime trades by taking nautical songs and music to the pubs, cafés, churches and streets of this seacoast town. The festival is held on the last weekend in September, with free music in the streets all afternoon Sunday. In 2008, the festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28. The Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival is funded by the generous donations of local friends, businesses and companies and by fans of maritime music from all over. The 2007 festival was a phenomenal success and we warmly thank you all for your support! |
