Folk Societies, Organizations and Conferences in New England

Join up! Folk Societies support and help coordinate folk activities of many types. Many organizations produce numerous events each year, along with one major event, frequently a festival. Most sponsored events are open to the public, but there are always member benefits! You are encouraged to find a society that supports your particular folk interests, and help them and yourself by becoming a member.

Folk conferences are for the business side of folk music. Like conferences for other industries, professionals gather to network and socialize, join in seminars and workshops, view each others’ products and services, and learn how to improve their business practices.
The Northeast Regional Folk Alliance conference is held each November in Monticello, NY.
